Robert Anton Wilson, born Robert Edward Wilson, January 18, 1932, died on January 11, 2007. He was an American novelist, essayist, philosopher, psychologist, futurologist, libertarian, and conspiracy theory researcher, probably best known for the Illuminatus Trilogy which he wrote with Robert Shea. He once described his writing as an "attempt to break down conditioned associationsa??to look at the world in a new way, with many models recognized as models (maps) and no one model elevated to the Truth." He also said "My goal is to try to get people into a state of generalized agnosticism, not agnosticism about God alone, but agnosticism about everything."
